Diwali Party

Diwali is one of the most important festivals for the villagers. Every year since 2005, Prof. Shobhana Madhavan and Prof. Deepak Gupta organize a day-long Diwali party with the help of current students and contributions from alumni. This party is organized one week before Diwali to enable participation of ASB volunteers who return home to spend time with their families for Diwali. Around 150 village children participate in the event that includes cultural events and competitions in sports. A gift hamper is created for each child. Amrita alumni such P.V. Anirudh (ASB Batch of 2006), S.Inbarajan (ASE Batch of 2006), Anup Menon (ASB Batch of 2007), S.P. Venkatesh (Batch of 2008), Saktikumar (Batch of 2008), P.Udhayakumar (Batch of 2009) have been participating and contributing to the Diwali party on a regular basis even ten years after their graduation.
